Sleeping Beauty on Ice - Christmas Ice Show
	Prince Phillip (Grant Howie) and Princess Aurora (Lisa Stevens) display beautiful grace and poise in a scene from the Dunedin Ice Skating Club's Christmas ice show Sleeping Beauty on Ice held at the Dunedin Ice Stadium this afternoon. A packed stadium audience were treated to an ice dance spectacular with over 100 junior skaters and 40 competitive adult skaters portraying the story of Sleeping Beauty adapted to the ice rink. Months of planning, hours of practice, thousands of yards of fabric, hundreds of dedicated skaters, millions of sequins and two wonderfully crazy directors come together to bring this unique version of a traditional tale, set to modern music and coupled with the grace and speed of figure skating.....»read more

Moana Pool Bloke Free Triathlon Series - Race One, Mosgiel
	Tamsyn Hayes leads Marion Baxter in to the final transition point at the Mosgiel Community Pool during this morning's Moana Pool Bloke Free Triathlon. In a dramatic turn of events it was Hayes who took line honours after race leader Rebecca Grant missed a turn off on the cycle course that allowed Hayes and Baxter to turn around a one minute deficit from the run/bike transition to a two minute lead going in to the final swim section. Despite light rain a good sized field of competitors turned up for the 8.00am start for the 4km run/ 15km bike/ 150m swim triathlon that also offered a duathlon option of a 4km run / 15km bike/ 2km run as well as a "no knees" option of a 15km bike and 150m swim....»read more

Collections 09 - Otago Polytechnic School of Design Fashion Show
	Third year Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion design student Anna Holmes-Libbis delights the 600 plus audience at the Collections 09 catwalk show this evening with her collection of Glam Rock stars titled 'WHAM GLAM and the THANKYOU MAMS!'. The show lived up to its reputation as the show piece of cutting edge design from some of New Zealand's most talented up-and-coming designers as models from Ali McD Agency & Modelling School parade the stunnign creations from the first, second and third year fashion design students down the catwalk. Dunedin Rhododendron Festival 2009
	The Dunedin Rhododendron Festival has become a hugely popular annual event for the city with a jam packed programme of garden tours, guest speakers, floral workshops and a host of other events and activities that cater for all ages and tastes. The 2009 Festival has expanded from previous years, due to the overwhelming demand from locals and people from throughout the country who travel to the city especially for the event, and now runs over nine days to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to attend their favourite events on the programme. 2009 Moro Marathon, Half Marathon & Recreational Walk
	Ealry pace setter for the full marathon, Tom Hunt, makes his way around the stunning Otago Harbour course for the 2009 Moro Marathon held in near perfect conditions in the city this morning. A record field of over 200 competitors were at the Harrington Point start line bright and early for the 8am start to the full marathon, eventually catching up with the other 1800 plus competitors in the Half Marathon and Recreational Walk section who started at 9.30am at the Edgar Sports Centre start line.
