Saturday 28 August 2010 - OXO Cubans Big Night Out
Dunedin has developed an exceptional and diverse base of musical talent in recent years, and veteran local musicians Doug Wright, Craig Reeves and Marcel Rodeka are determined to develop opportunities for many of them to show their skills.

Wright, Reeves and Rodeka from top Dunedin band The Oxo Cubans, are doing something about it. The Oxo Cubans Big Night Out at The Mayfair Theatre on Saturday August 28 will be a showcase for this burgeoning southern talent, some of whom have already cut their teeth with the Oxos at the Isis Lounge Thursday night jam and open mic sessions. Hopefully this will be the first of many concerts at The Mayfair to fill what the three musicians see as a gap in the Dunedin music scene.

8 - 17 October 2010 - Otago Festival of the Arts
A Boutique Festival in a Boutique City
The Otago Festival of the Arts was established in 1999 to present a biennial arts festival in Dunedin. There are two simple 'catch phrases' which encapsulate what this Festival is all about - Otago Festival of the Arts ; "celebrating the excellent and the extra-ordinary" " a boutique festival in a boutique city."

The 2010 Festival programme is jam packed with music, theatre, dance and visual arts that will take you on a magical journey into an exciting world of extra-ordinary performance.

A major drawcard for the 2010 Festival will undoubtedly be the final night's performance of New Zealand's one and only Dame Kiri Te Kanawa who will present her first ever solo recital in Dunedin. This is truly a one-off opportunity for Otago audiences to experience first hand the beauty, power and majesty of New Zealand's most famous opera diva.
