Sporting Events - Last Games at Carisbrook
Carisbrook, Dunedin. Saturday 6 August 2011
The Otago Legends of Carisbrook team give a final toast to the mighty Carisbrook stadium after their "epic" battle with a Southland Invitation XV this afternoon at the 'Brook. The players from the legendary 1998 Otago team that won the National Division One Championship final held at Carisbrook included players such as All Black captain Taine Randell, Stephen Bachop, Brendan Laney, Arthur Stone, Greg Cooper, David Latta, Richard Knight to name a few.

The match was part of the final celebrations held at Carisbrook today as all rugby fixtures will be held in the new Forsyth Barr Stadium from now on. Games played this afternoon featured the Dunedin Club Rugby Premier Final between Taieri & Harbour, and the ITM Cup match between Otago & Southland.

The Premier Club Rugby Final was a close fought affair with Taieri coming out on top 12-9 over Harbour.
The Legends of Carisbrook team go through their warm up routines before taking to the field to battle a Southland Invitation XV.

The final Otago rugby team game to be played on Carisbrook featured the ITM Cup match between Otago & Southland. Unfortunately Otago could not finish the day's celebrations with a win, going down to Southland 19-9.
