A sell-out audience at opening night of the Dunedin Operatic production of The Producers were treated to a spectacle of true Broadway proportions this evening with dazzling costumes and sets, hilarious Mel Brooks one-liners, and superb singing and dancing from talented local Dunedin performers.
The show, directed and choreographed by Douglas Kamo with musical direction from Stuart Walker, tells the story of a down on his luck Broadway Producer and a timid accountant who hit upon the perfect get-rich-quick scheme – raise far more money than you need to, and produce a sure fire flop.
A record winner of 12 Tony Awards, an Olivier Award for Best New Musical and Best West End Musical, Featuring leggy showgirls, dazzling songs and a witty script to keep you laughing all night. This is definitely a show you don't want to miss!
